LEAP app privacy policy

This policy covers the LEAP Team app at leap.ncartsinaction.org, run by NC Arts in Action ("NC AIA," "we"). It explains what information the app keeps, why, and who can see it.

What we keep

• Family and dancer information that families give NC AIA when they join LEAP: names, grade and school, the dancer's group, guardian names, email addresses and phone numbers, and any health or care notes the family shares so staff can keep dancers safe.
• Attendance: whether a dancer was present, late, left early or absent, the reason for an absence, and notes from staff.
• What you share in the app, such as absence reports, messages to staff, and posts or photos on the team wall.
• Sign-in details: when you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name and email address so we can match you to the LEAP list. We do not receive your Google password or anything else from your Google account.

How we use it

• To run the LEAP program: attendance, scheduling, rehearsals, performances and communication with families.
• To send LEAP emails, sign-in codes and, if you turn them on, app notifications.

We do not sell or rent this information, show ads, or use it for marketing. The app has no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who can see it

• LEAP staff can see the full roster and attendance, including care notes.
• Families can see their own family's information and attendance. Posts on the team wall are visible to everyone on the LEAP Team.
• We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Where it is stored

The information is kept in NC AIA's Google Workspace account. The app itself is served by Netlify. Your phone keeps a sign-in token so you stay signed in; signing out removes it.

Children

LEAP dancers are students. A dancer's information comes from their parent or guardian, and families can ask us to review, correct or remove it at any time.

Your choices

To correct or remove your family's information, or to stop using the app, contact the LEAP Team director or NC AIA at the address below. When a family leaves LEAP, we keep attendance records only as long as we need them for program records.
